The roots of Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant run deep into the heart of Mexico. Our story began generations ago, in a small town where family gatherings often centered around the kitchen. Abuelitas (grandmothers) passed down age-old recipes, and every dish was made with care, love, and fresh ingredients from local markets. This spirit of hospitality and authenticity followed us across the border and into Kentucky, where Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant was born.
Our founder, whose friends affectionately call “Pepe,” grew up surrounded by rich flavors, bold spices, and a deep respect for traditional cooking methods. Opening a restaurant was not just about starting a business—it was about bringing a piece of home to a new community. Pepe envisioned a space where people could gather to enjoy real Mexican cuisine in a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere. And so, in Lexington, Kentucky, the first Pepe’s location opened its doors. Thanks to the overwhelming love and support of the community, a second location in Georgetown soon followed.
